Sarita Garcia is an experienced arts educator and lecturer with a robust background in fiber and material studies. Currently serving as a lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago since December 2023, Sarita also coordinates programs at the Hyde Park Art Center. Previous roles include internships and educational positions at the Art Institute of Chicago, Pulitzer Arts Foundation, and various community-focused organizations such as Marwen and Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance. Sarita's educational background includes a Master of Art in Arts Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, complementing a Bachelor's degree in Fiber, Textile and Weaving Arts from the same institution. With a commitment to enhancing arts education for diverse audiences, Sarita has developed and implemented programs that inspire creativity among students and community members.
