Jessica Walker

Jessica Walker is a Senior Hydraulics Engineer at Hydro Tasmania since December 2019, overseeing the asset portfolio for canals and flumes while managing civil assets. Previously, Jessica served as a Senior Lecturer in Ocean Engineering at the Australian Maritime College from July 2012 to November 2019, focusing on research and education in marine renewable energy. Jessica's experience also includes a role as a Fulbright Scholar at the United States Naval Academy, conducting research on tidal power, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Renewable Energy at the University of Tasmania. Jessica held various leadership positions within Engineers Australia, advocating for young engineers from 2006 to 2011. Educational credentials include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Tasmania, alongside a Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching and a Certificate IV in Competitive Systems and Practices.
