Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependent upon experience, plus company vehicle

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am -5pm, 35 hours per week

Location: Field Based, covering East Anglia, office location Ely



What can you expect?

As Service Chemist you will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Manager/Field Sales Manager but will equally be expected to work on your own and as a part of the regional team.

There is a requirement for significant travel within the Region and occasionally within the UK.

Main duties may include:

  • Working within the guidance provided by ACOP L8 and associated company documents, and guidance,
  • Ensuring that any plant worked on is safe and free from the risks presented by Legionella.
  • Working on Steam Raising plant to BS2486 standards and associated company documents, and guidance.
  • Working on Closed Systems to BSRIA Closed Heating and Cooling System BG 50 standards and associated company documents, and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • The effective and on time servicing of the customer accounts for which the Service Chemist is responsible, including monthly & weekly visits, when appropriate
  • Carrying out contracted technical visits to customers in accordance with the contractually agreed timetable.
  • To identify sales opportunities in accounts serviced by the Service Chemist and to provide quotations to the client and maintaining and expanding the Company’s business with existing customers, by ensuring that they are fully aware of the full range of the Company’s products and services.
  • To work with and support the Regional Manager/Field Sales Manager with sales calls
  • Providing reports through the HX MDS system.
  • Conducting cleaning and chlorination of both domestic and cooling tower systems if required and conducting legionella monitoring and control tasks in line with the client’s written scheme and the relevant technical guidance.
  • Conducting water analysis on cooling towers systems, steam boilers and closed systems, recording and interpreting results in line with current legislation and conducting appropriate remedial actions.
  • Following a preventative maintenance program in line with the appropriate approved code of practice as instructed.
  • Interpreting results and provide written reports in line with the appropriate code of practice.

 Knowledge required:

  • Water sampling techniques in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG 274
  • Water sampling and testing in accordance with BSRIA and BS:2486
  • Cold Water Storage Tank Cleaning and maintenance of Cooling towers in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG 274
  • Cold Water Storage Tank inspection procedures accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG 274
