Joshua Kemp has had a varied career since 2015. Joshua began as a Computer Science Summer Camp Counselor at Norfolk Academy in 2015. In 2018, they became a Madison Connect HUB Software Developer at James Madison University. In 2019, they worked as a Teaching Assistant and Software Defined Networks Researcher/Developer at James Madison University. In 2020, they worked as a Lead Cyber Security Systems Engineer and Cyber Security Systems Engineer Consultant at CGI. Joshua is currently a Software Engineer at HII Unmanned Systems, where they are one of the lead full-stack developers within HII's Mission Technology division, Unmanned Systems group. Joshua is utilizing REACTJS with Typescript, along with a JAVA backend using technologies like REDUX for state management, REST API, Web Sockets and Self-Hosted Tile Servers, and Real-Time data manipulation.

Joshua Kemp attended Norfolk Academy from 2004 to 2016, graduating with a high school degree. Joshua then went on to attend James Madison University from 2016 to 2020, earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. In 2021, they returned to James Madison University to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Information Security, which they are expected to complete in 2023. In May 2020, they obtained the NSTISSI No. 4011 - Information Systems Security Professionals certification from CNSS National Security Systems.
