Desmond Koh's work experience includes various HR roles in different companies. In 2013, they worked as an HR & Training Coordinator at Asian Detours Pte Ltd. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Talent Recruitment Coordinator at GE. Desmond then moved up to become a Talent Acquisition Specialist, managing internal recruitment in ASEAN in 2017. In 2018, they became an HR Operations Specialist at GE, providing HR services to employees and implementing process improvements. From 2019 to 2020, Desmond worked as a Senior Human Resources Specialist at Schneider Electric, providing HR services to employees across Singapore and Malaysia. In 2020, they joined Livspace as a Senior Human Resources Partner, taking on a business partner cum generalist role in attracting and developing talent. In 2021, they became the Head of People and Culture at Ackcio, a role they held until 2022. Following that, they continued their career as the Head of People and Operations at Canopus Advisors and later as the Head of People at Hydroleap in 2023.

Desmond Koh, IHRP-SP, holds a Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management, which they obtained from Baruch College in 2015. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at The University of Western Australia between 2008 and 2012. In 2004, Desmond earned a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and Technology from Temasek Polytechnic.

In addition to their formal education, Desmond Koh has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional development. Desmond received the certification of Agility in HR from NTUC LearningHub in February 2022. In August 2021, they obtained the Certified HR Business Partner certification from AIHR | Academy to Innovate HR. Moreover, Desmond has also obtained the IHRP-SP credential from the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) in September 2022.
