Gear Misner started their work experience in 2006 as a Unified Communication Engineer at the University of Arizona. During their time there, they maintained a network of 1,600 devices with over 50,000 users, implemented software and hardware upgrades, and designed and implemented network upgrades. Gear also deployed Callmanager and Meeting Place Express for voice, video, and web conferencing on the campus. Additionally, they configured Cisco Contact Center for the university's help desk. In 2010, Gear joined Hye Tech Network & Security Solutions, LLC as a Senior Collaboration Engineer. Gear later moved up to the role of Senior Collaboration Architect and is currently serving as the Director of Collaboration Products and Services.
Gear Misner attended the University of Arizona from 2005 to 2009, majoring in Political Science and Government. Additionally, they obtained several certifications from Cisco, including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) in November 2016, Cisco Certified Network Professional Collaboration (CCNP Collab) in November 2016, CCIE Collaboration Written in November 2013, and Cisco Certified Network Professional Voice (CCNP Voice) (Retired) in July 2012. They also have a certification called Cisco Certified Voice Associate (CCVA) from Cisco, although the details regarding the month and year of obtaining this certification are not available.
