Jennifer Longworth

Director, Marketing & Engagement at Hygieia Biological Laboratories

Jennifer is a recent recruit to science and health advocacy after a career in art, design and preservation science. Based in New York City, she worked in the niche area of gilded finishes for art and architecture. As head of sales for the largest US importer of gold leaf, she directed educational, marketing and technical support for commercial, residential, religious, government, museum and historic properties around the world, as well as championing emerging and established artists. Among her favorite projects are New York Life Insurance’s iconic Manhattan rooftop, the Kadampa Meditation Center in Glen Spey, Trinity Church in lower Manhattan, Central Park’s USS Maine Monument, and the White House. She has taught workshops around the country and has contributed her expertise to The New York Times, The New Yorker, Traditional Building and many other trade publications, and published an article for the conservation reference Historic Preservation.

Jennifer earned her BA in Art History from Hunter College, is a fellow of the Attingham Summer School in the UK and is pursuing certification in Horticultural Therapy at the New York Botanical Garden. She is a board member and communications chair of the preservation-focused Old Village Association in Chatham, MA and an associate member of the American Horticultural Therapy Association. She volunteers with CapeAbilities, an organization that provides job training, homes and services for individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod. Jennifer is excited to advance vaccines as sustainable treatments for promoting human and animal health.
