Simon Jones

Simon Jones is the current Head of Responsible Investment at Edinburgh-based Hymans Robertson LLP. Simon has over 25 years of experience in the actuarial and investment industries.

Simon started their career as an Actuarial Trainee at Scottish Widows in 1993. Simon then moved to Mercer Human Resource Consulting in 1996, where they worked as an Actuary for six years. In 2002, they transitioned to Aon Consulting as an Investment Consultant.

In 2005, Simon joined P-Solve as an Investment Director. Simon spent six years there before moving to Hymans Robertson in 2011, where they spent eight years as a Senior Investment Consultant.

Simon returned to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in August 2019, taking on the role of Chair of the Resource and Environment Board. Simon held this position for two years before returning to Hymans Robertson in July 2020.

Simon Jones has a MSc from The University of Edinburgh and a BSc from University of St Andrews.

They are on a team with Richard Wellard - Partner & Risk Transfer Specialist, Darren Baillie - Risk & Modelling Consultant, and Shabna Islam - Head of DC Provider Relations, Birmingham. Simon Jones reports to John Dickson, Senior Partner, Glasgow.
