Leo Soares

Leo Soares has extensive work experience in the field of embedded systems and software engineering. Leo is currently working as the CTO and Co-founder at Hyper.systems since September 2021. Prior to this, Leo worked at YouView TV Limited as an Embedded Software Engineer from October 2018 to July 2021. Leo also worked as an Embedded Systems Engineer at Plumis Ltd. for a brief period in July 2018. In 2018, Leo worked on a contract basis as an Embedded Systems (IoT) and Software Engineer at DryGro, where they developed a sensor and automation network for agriculture. Leo has also worked as an independent consultant and contractor for embedded systems and embedded Linux from August 2013 to February 2018. Leo has held various roles during this time, including that of an Independent Consultant for Embedded Systems and Embedded Linux. Leo has experience as a Product Developer and Project Manager at LedWorks, GlobalTech Portugal, and Decibel Group, where they developed a digital signage system device and its cloud infrastructure. Before that, they co-founded Widetech.pt, a company specialized in BGA and micro electronics repairs products and solutions, where they developed an ARM and Linux powered mini server. Leo's early work experience includes working as an Electronics and Tech Specialist, Project Lead, and Senior Engineer at Decibel, Sistemas Profissionais de Som e Luz, LDA. Leo was responsible for repairing professional audio, lighting, and video equipment, as well as designing and building custom electronics for stage audiovisuals. Overall, Leo Soares has gained significant expertise in embedded systems, software engineering, and project management throughout their career.

Leo Soares has a Licentiate degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology. Leo also holds another Licentiate degree in Electronics and Computer Networks Engineering from Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo. Additionally, Leo Soares completed a High School degree in Electronics Technological Course from Escola Secundária José Regio, Vila do Conde from 2006 to 2008.
