Our engineering department is a melting pot of some of the brightest (and kindest!) engineers in the industry.

The level of complexity of hx Renew requires a highly technical, true engineering mindset so an output of this is a deeply creative, innovative environment where we push technological boundaries, both through our work and our regular (and sometimes irregular!) hackathons. Complex systems, especially those operating in high-regulation industries like insurance, require thorough testing and validation.

Our Quality Assurance Strategy states that the responsibility for Quality and Testing is shared by the whole development team. We are looking for an effective balance between different test levels, types and techniques to achieve speed and quality.

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to bring deep quality assurance and testing knowledge to a product team.

Your impact

The key responsibility will be to increase our testing maturity by:

• understanding quality risks,
• defining the team testing strategy,
• up-skilling and supporting engineers,
• building tools and making testing more effective and faster.

You will also:

• implement and maintain automated tests together with other engineers in the product team,
• closely collaborate with engineers and product managers to include quality-related activity in the product roadmap,
• contribute to the overall Quality and Testing Strategy.

Initial Deliverables

• Within your first month you will understand your team’s services and existing testing setup, as well as understand their quality and overall testing strategy
• By your second month you will be delivering test-related tasks together with the rest of the product team
• By your third month you have defined a high-level test plan for your team’s services

Experience and skills we are looking for

From day one we require you to have:

• extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance

• hands-on experience working in at least one area of automated testing

  • browser based e2e testing
  • API testing
  • contract testing
  • infrastructure (in cloud) testing

• experience in designing test scenarios for complex user flows

• experience working with Product stakeholders to build a consistent and robust testing plan

We would be happy if you additionally have (or would like to learn)

• programming skills (preferred, but not limited to python, java/kotlin, rust)
• experience with performance testing and benchmarking
• infrastructure (in cloud) testing
• understanding of coded quality concepts
• having a demonstrably good working knowledge of fundamental computer science and software engineering principles (algorithms, data structures, complexity, design patterns, architecture)
