Jo Schlemper

Jo Schlemper began their work experience in 2013 as a Software Engineer Summer Intern at Ocado, where they worked on a project in the Business Support team. In 2014, they had a Software Engineering Industrial Placement at Moore Europe Capital Management LLP, where they implemented data visualization tools using JavaScript and various frameworks.

In 2018, Jo joined Twitter as a Machine Learning Researcher for a brief period. They then moved on to Hyperfine in 2019, where they held various roles. As a Deep Learning Scientist, they pioneered a state-of-the-art deep learning MRI reconstruction algorithm and contributed to FDA clearances for DL reconstruction and AI measurement tools for brain MRI.

In 2022, Jo became a Staff AI Scientist and Team Lead/Manager at Hyperfine. They conducted research, developed key innovations in various areas, and mentored a team of senior scientists and interns. Throughout their career, Jo has filed seven or more patents.

Jo Schlemper completed their International Baccalaureate at Hockerill Anglo-European College from 2009 to 2011. They then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial College London from 2011 to 2015. Jo continued their education at Imperial College London, where they completed an MRes in the Centre for Doctoral Training in High Performance Embedded and Distributed Systems (HiPEDS) from 2015 to 2019. They also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Imperial College London from 2016 to 2019.
