Kirk Merrett has extensive experience in human resources and administration. Kirk began their career in 1990 as a Manager of HR/Operations at Hudson's Bay Company, where they worked until 1998. From 1998 to 2007, they served as Director of Human Resources at Eddie Bauer. After that, they joined Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. as Director of Human Resources & General Affairs, where they were responsible for various HR functions and facilities management. Kirk then moved to Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. in 2013 as Director of Human Resources & Administration, where they oversaw employee engagement, compensation, recruiting, training & development, performance management, payroll, benefits, and facilities administration. Overall, Kirk has a diverse background in HR and has played a significant role in the strategic planning and implementation of people-related initiatives in various organizations.
Kirk Merrett holds a Bachelor of Business Economics from Brock University. Kirk also has a certification in human resources, specifically as a CHRL from HRPA (Human Resources Professionals Association). In addition to their academic achievements, Kirk participated in a musical show tour for one year in the US, Europe, and Japan as part of Up With People.
