Paul Neary

Professor Paul Neary is a Colorectal and Laparoscopic General Surgeon based at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital Dublin Ireland. He has received a comprehensive general surgical training covering vascular, breast and endocrine, upper gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and colorectal surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons Higher Surgical training Programme in Ireland. His main subspecialty interest is colorectal surgery. He has trained in two recognized international tertiary referral centre for the management of complex colorectal cases completing his final Colorectal Fellowship Training in Cleveland Ohio under Dr Victor Fazio. He was appointed as Clinical Professor of Surgery through Trinity College Dublin in 2012. He was appointed to the board of i360 medical in 2014. Professor Neary graduated from University College Cork, NUI in 1992 and following internship in Cork University Hospital was appointed to the Dublin Surgical training programme (postgraduate residency). He complete his MD by thesis and was appointed to the RCSI higher surgical training which he completed in 2003. He was trained in Laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Hull, England under Professor John Monson and at the Cleveland Clinic, USA with Dr Anthony Senagore and Dr Connor Delaney. His personal experience in laparoscopic colorectal surgery now extends to over 1000 resections. He has run operative courses both at home and in the USA demonstrating and teaching laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He is an Editor of an operative textbook on advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He has over 100 publications primary related to advanced colorectal surgery and in particular laparoscopic surgery. He routinely lectures on laparoscopic colorectal surgery both nationally and internationally. He maintains an active research portfolio having mentored several fellows to completion of their MD by thesis in RCSI as well as clinical research projects. He has a special interest in surgical techniques and skills training particularly in the area of virtual reality training and simulation. He has been the head clinical lead in i360medical since its foundation and was appointed to its board in 2014.
