Dimitrios Kountouras

Dimitrios Kountouras is an accomplished medical professional specializing in Internal Medicine and Hepatology, currently serving as the Head of Internal Medicine and Hepatology Clinic at IASO Hospital Athens since March 2023. Kountouras has been actively involved in the Transfusion International Federation as a Hepatologist in Thalassemia syndromes since October 2019. Previously, Kountouras held the position of Medical Director at both Bioiatriki Healthcare Group and Bioclinic Athens General Clinic Private, overseeing clinical services and internal medicine departments. Kountouras also directed the Dpt of Hepatology at ΥΓΕΙΑ / Hygeia Hospital and served as the Head of Internal Medicine and Hepatology Clinic at ΜΗΤΕΡΑ / Mitera Hospital, with extensive experience in patient care management for liver diseases.
