Georges von Degenfeld, MD PhD, FESC has held a variety of roles in the medical field over the past 25 years. In 1994, they began their career as a Resident and Research Scientist in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, University Hospital Grosshadern. In 2002, they moved to Stanford University as a Research Scientist. In 2005, they co-founded and became a Director of Micropept Ltd. From 2006 to 2018, they held positions at Bayer AG, including Vice President, Global Medical Affairs Xarelto, Vice President, Head of Therapeutic Research Group Ophthalmology, Director and Head, Ophthalmology Research, Director, Common Mechanism Research, and Laboratory Head, Cardiovascular Drug Discovery. In 2018, they joined Medgate as a Telemedicine Physician. Most recently, in 2019, they became Founder and Chief Medical Officer of iATROS.

Georges von Degenfeld, MD PhD, FESC has a long and varied educational background. Georges began their studies in 1987 at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Műnchen, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 1994. In 1989, they attended the International Academy for Philosophy, Principality of Liechtenstein, where they studied Bioethics and Philosophy. Georges also holds a Baccalaureat from the European School in Karlsruhe, Germany. From 2009 to 2015, they were a Faculty Member at Universität Witten/Herdecke, and from 2003 to 2005 they were an Auditing Guest at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
