Andreas Himmel

Andreas Himmel is an experienced researcher and engineer specializing in control theory and machine learning for dynamic systems, particularly within the process industry. Currently serving as a Forschungs- und Entwicklungsingenieur at IAV since August 2023, Andreas previously held roles such as Senior Researcher and Research Group Leader at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and International Research Scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. With a strong foundation in battery management systems and coupled processes, Andreas's career includes significant contributions as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Ph.D. student at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, as well as an internship at Bosch Rexroth. Educational qualifications include a Doctor's Degree in Process Systems Engineering, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science, all obtained from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg.
