Verity-Rose Olive CEng MICE has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Verity-Rose began their career at Balfour Beatty Rail as an Engineering & Assurance Engineer, where they worked on various projects related to drainage, asset maintenance, and track design. Verity-Rose then moved on to become an Assistant Project Engineer, where they gained experience both in the office and on-site. Verity-Rose later served as a Project Engineer for the Ballasted Track Renewal (BTR) team at Balfour Beatty Rail, successfully delivering a major blockade with zero harm. Verity-Rose also worked as a Project Engineer (Acting) and played a crucial role in ensuring quality assurance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Verity-Rose then joined the Onni Group of Companies as a Project Engineer, where they coordinated civil construction projects and was responsible for landfill and civil work. Verity-Rose performed tasks such as coordinating fill sites, arranging permits, and developing project schedules.
Verity-Rose subsequently joined Balfour Beatty plc as a Project Engineer - P&C, where they were responsible for design, installation, and validation of signaling equipment rooms for the Tube network in London. Verity-Rose managed stakeholders and ensured compliance with LUL standards and legislation.
Verity-Rose then transitioned to CPC Project Services LLP, working on the Four Line Modernisation (4LM) project for Transport for London. Verity-Rose served as an Assistant Project Manager and contributed to increasing the frequency, capacity, and reliability of the tube network.
Afterwards, they joined Transport for London directly as an Assistant Project Manager, overseeing the Train Protection Warning System Project and the 20 trains per hour (20TPH) Project for London Overground.
Most recently, Verity-Rose has been employed by Iberdrola, where they have held the roles of Principal Designer Assurance and CDM & Interface Engineer. Verity-Rose has been advising on CDM Regs 2015 assurance related activities for offshore windfarm projects and ensuring compliance to Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Verity-Rose's current position is as Lead Engineer for Engineering Systems at ScottishPower Renewables, where they are involved in leading engineering activities for renewable energy projects.
Verity-Rose Olive CEng MICE completed their education at the University of Exeter, Camborne School of Mines in 2012, where they earned their MSc in Mining Engineering. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2010, they attended the University of Portsmouth, where they obtained a BEng (Hons) in Engineering Geology & Geotechnics. In 2021, Verity-Rose achieved the Chartered Member CEng MICE certification from the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
