Salima Mutima has over 20 years of experience in public health, research, and project management. Salima began their career in 2002 as a Public Health Epidemiologist at the Louisiana Office of Public Health. In 2005, they moved to Stanford University as a Public Health Researcher. From 2012 to 2015, they worked at International Business & Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI) as the Global Health Practice Director and Chief of Party for the Ebola Pillar II Recovery Efforts- Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Project. From 2012 to 2018, they worked at DevTech Systems, Inc. as the Acting Chief of Party/ Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID Nigeria Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Activity. In 2021, they became the Chief of Party for the United State Agency for International Development (USAID) Haiti Evaluation & Survey Services (ESS) Project at Social Impact. Currently, they are the Chief Of Party, USAID/Haiti Evaluation & Survey Services Plus, International Business Initiatives, providing overall leadership and management of the four-year over $19 millions Evaluation and Survey Services Plus (ESS+) activity.

Salima Mutima obtained a Bachelor of Science in Bio-Medical Sciences from Universite Catholic de Bukavu, Bukavu, RDC in 1991-1994. Salima then attended Universite d'Abomey Calavi, Cotonou. Benin where they obtained their Medical Doctor degree in Medicine from 1994-1999. Lastly, they attended Tulane University School of Medicine where they obtained their Master of Public Health in Public Health, Epidemiology, International health and development from 2000-2001.
