Nick Saylock

Extrusion Operator at IC3D Printers

Nick Saylock is a materials science and engineering student who graduated from Pennsylvania State University in December of 2019. Nick began their career as a research assistant in Dr. Hickner's lab, where they worked to develop and refine techniques for 3D printing silicone composite materials. Nick's experiments included rheology studies of silicone at various temperatures, adhesion strength and tensile strength tests, data analysis of thermoplastic performance, and tool path optimization through slicing softwares and G-code customization. In May of 2018, Nick became a member of the S.T.A.M.P.P survey team for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Their responsibilities included collecting data about the condition of bridges and roadways in Pennsylvania. In January of 2021, Nick began working as an assistant project manager for Restoration East LLC. Nick worked with this company until October of 2021, when they took their current position as an extrusion operator at IC3D Printers.

Nick Saylock graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering.
