Barron S. Wall

Managing Associate & Principal at ICA Risk Management Consultants

As the Managing Associate of ICA since 1981, Barron oversees the activities of the firm and provides thought leadership in tailoring consulting services to ICA’s 400 diverse domestic and international clients. Under Barron’s leadership, the organization — comprising legal, accounting and risk management professionals — has grown both in the scope of services it offers as well as in the range of clients it serves.

Over the course of 49 years, Barron has been responsible for homing in on what risk management services each individual industry would most benefit from. In this regard, services were created for the management liability needs of clients, as well as services of varying types to protect the client’s own assets and operations. The design of these services also includes auditing of all types of third parties that the client would typically purchase services from that are part of the client’s risk management program. These services support ICA’s Clients that do not have a risk management department or supplement services to Clients that maintain a risk management department. By design, these 20 services bring value and a significant return on the Client’s investment in these services. The depth of ICA’s services has allowed professionals in the industry to refer to ICA as “the gold standard of risk management firms”.

Prior to providing consulting services, Barron led the risk management department for a multibillion-dollar supermarket retailer in the Northeast.

Barron received a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University and he holds his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from the Institutes Risk and Insurance Knowledge Group. Barron served as a Director of the Society of Risk Management Consultants and as President of the former Insurance Consultants Society. Barron is also a member of the Risk Management Consultants of Ontario, Canada. Barron is both a lecturer and author on many insurance and risk management topics as well as an expert witness in the industry. Barron served as the President of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Ramapo College. He is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.

Barron also focuses his efforts on two of his many passions: health and education-driven philanthropy. Barron serves as a friend and benefactor to charities that protect and educate children and women and is currently funding the construction of a birthing hospital in Uganda. He provides financial support to students from military families seeking university degrees, whose parent has died in the line of duty.

Barron’s devotion to endangered species is evidenced by one of his proudest achievements: his contribution to building the Charles Goldberg African Wildlife Foundation Bonobo Research Center located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in honor of his late grandfather who inspired Barron’s love of wildlife.

Barron resides in the New York metropolitan area and is currently working on a fictional novel that he hopes will eclipse Harry Potter as the world’s new favorite fantasy adventure.
