Kenya D. L. Townsend

Kenya D. L. Townsend serves as the Director of The Center for Youth Education within the Office for Diversity and Inclusion at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since November 2018, where efforts focus on inspiring youth from disadvantaged backgrounds through education programs in science and medicine. Previously, Kenya held roles such as Program Manager at the same center, President of the New York Urban League Young Professionals, and Conference Co-Chair for APACS, all emphasizing leadership and community empowerment. Other experiences include project management and volunteer coordination in various health and recovery initiatives across New York City, as well as clinical research roles at esteemed institutions such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Mount Sinai Health System. Kenya earned a Bachelor's Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Hampton University.
