Matthew G. Kriege

Matthew G. Kriege is an Associate Attorney at Ice Miller LLP in the Chicago office since November 2021, specializing in private fund formation, M&A, private equity transactions, and general corporate matters. Previously, Matthew served as Corporate Counsel at Phillips Edison & Company from February 2019 to November 2021, where responsibilities included leading M&A, capital market legal matters, and strategic transactions, including an IPO on Nasdaq. Matthew has gained experience through various law clerk positions, including at Gatherwright Freeman & Associates, William E. Hesch Law Firm, and Dressman Benzinger LaVelle, as well as internships that provided exposure to the legal field. Matthew holds a Juris Doctor degree from Northern Kentucky University—Salmon P. Chase College of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with minors in Business Administration and Management from Northern Kentucky University, along with recognition as an Outstanding Student in Business at Bishop Brossart High School.
