Matt Stephenson

Matt Stephenson is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and architectural design. As Co-Founder and Chief Architect at IceGuard since March 2025, Matt leads innovative solutions. Prior roles include Distinguished Software Engineer and Head of Infrastructure at Starburst Data, where Matt was integral to the founding team and the architecture of the Starburst Galaxy SaaS product. Matt also served as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Manager at Cash App, where significant performance improvements were achieved in event processing, and as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Oracle, focusing on service reliability and container native development. With additional experience at CloudBees, Groupon, Square, Google, Proofpoint, and Ooyala, Matt has consistently contributed to high-scale infrastructure projects and has a strong background in software development and deployment automation. Matt holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from The University of Texas at Dallas.
