Brynjar Mar Karlsson began their work experience in 2000 as an Engineer at Siemens Mobile Phones A/S. Brynjar Mar later took on the role of DSP Engineer at the same company and ended their tenure in 2003. In 2004, they joined AFL ehf as a Consulting Engineer. Brynjar Mar then moved to Marel in 2005, where they served as an Embedded Software Engineer until 2012. From 2012 to 2019, Brynjar Mar Karlsson held the position of Innovation Manager at Marel. In 2019, they joined Icelandair as the Director of Project Delivery Center.
Brynjar Mar Karlsson completed their M.Sc.E.E. in Signal Processing - Speech Communications from Aalborg University from 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, they obtained their Electrician degree from Fjölbhrautarshólinn í Breiðholti from 1990 to 1993. Brynjar Mar also holds additional certifications including N.E.W.S. Manager as Coach - Leading People Training from N.E.W.S. Navigation obtained in 2018, Leadership programme from TiasNimbas Business School Utrecht B.V. obtained in 2012, and Rafvirkjun -Sveinspróf from Rafiðnaðarsamband Íslands obtained in 1994.
