Michal Gwizdala

Michal Gwizdala serves as Chief Science Officer at Kelp Blue Biotech since July 2024 and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher and Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow at ICFO. Previously, Michal held various prestigious positions, including Claude Leon Fellow and Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pretoria, and Guest Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where expertise in biophysics and biochemistry was applied to research on photosynthetic complexes. Additional experience includes a Scientific Exchange Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD Fellowship at CEA, focusing on photoprotective mechanisms in cyanobacteria. Michal's academic credentials include a Ph.D. from Paris-Sud University and a Master's degree from Jagiellonian University, covering fields relevant to photosynthesis, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
