Fatou Sonko

Fatou Sonko has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Fatou currently works as a Benefits Counsel at MissionSquare Retirement since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Attorney from June 2018 to June 2023. Fatou also served as an Attorney Advisor at the Social Security Administration from August 2016 to November 2021. Fatou has experience as a Judicial Fellow at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland from April 2013 to September 2013. Fatou also worked as a Bankruptcy Clinic Intern at the University of Miami School of Law from August 2011 to May 2012. Additionally, Fatou has worked as a Legal Clerk at Siegfried, Rivera, Lerner, De La Torre & Sobel, P.A from October 2011 to March 2012, and as a Legal Intern at the National Labor Relations Board from May 2011 to August 2011. Fatou gained further legal experience as a Legal Intern at the United States Trustee Office from May 2010 to August 2010. Early in their career, Fatou worked as a Legal Assistant at Dickinson Wright PLLC from October 2007 to July 2009, and as a Legislative Intern at NAACP from May 2006 to August 2006.

Fatou Sonko has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from Howard University, which they obtained from 2003 to 2007. Fatou further pursued their education at the University of Miami School of Law, where they received a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from 2009 to 2012.
