Luis Miguel also held the role of Interim Turnaround Finance Director from September 2013 to August 2015, implementing organizational change and cost reduction strategies. Additionally, they worked as the Internal Audit Director from November 2008 to October 2013, overseeing the design and implementation of the internal control environment.

Luis Miguel began their career at PwC, where they held various positions from 2001 to 2008, including Audit Manager, Executive/Senior Auditor, and Auditor Senior.

Luis Miguel Couto Iglesias has a diverse education history. In 1998, they completed their Licenciado Administración y Dirección de Empresas (Bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics) at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Luis Miguel then attended Colegio Virgen de Mirasierra in Madrid from 1987 to 1998.

In 2003, Luis pursued a Master en Auditoría / MSc in Auditing at Universidad de Alcalá, which they completed in 2004. Following this, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Columbia Business School in 2016.

Continuing their education, Luis Miguel Couto Iglesias completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Logic & Science with a focus on Digital Humanities at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D. from 2017 to 2021.

Furthermore, Luis obtained additional certifications throughout their career. In 2006, they became an Auditor de Cuentas, España - ROAC (Qualified Chartered Accountant), awarded by ICAC- Instituto de Contabilidad y Auditoria de Cuentas. Additionally, in 2019, they obtained the Professional Scrum Product Owner I certification from Scrum.org.
