Ben Sarlo

Ben Sarlo has a diverse work experience in the field of lighting and compositing. Ben started their career as a Junior Lighting & Compositing Artist at ICON Creative Studio in May 2016 and later transitioned to a full-time role as a Lighting & Compositing Artist. Ben then worked as a Lead Lighting & Compositing Artist, where they played a key role in the development of lighting sequences and environments for the show "Elena of Avalor." Ben joined Artella in November 2016 as a Lighting & Compositing Artist and contributed to various projects until July 2018. Ben also had a brief role as a Lighting & Compositing Artist at Animation Mentor from September 2015 to February 2016. Prior to working in the animation industry, Ben freelanced as a Motion Graphic Designer at Direct Dental Plans of America, Inc. in June 2014. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Lighting at ICON Creative Studio, where they are responsible for overseeing lighting workflow and implementing new tools and processes.

Ben Sarlo attended the University of Colorado Denver from 2012 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 3D Graphics and Digital Animation. Prior to that, they studied Film/Cinema/Video Studies at Montana State University-Bozeman from 2011 to 2012, although they did not obtain a degree from there.
