Mariagabriela Alterio

Mariagabriela Alterio has a diverse work experience in various roles within the clinical research industry. Mariagabriela began their career in 1995 as a Research Associate at the Institute of Virology, Johannes Gutenberg-Universitaet Mainz. Mariagabriela then worked as a Clinical Research Associate at Boehringer Ingelheim, Searle, Monsanto, and Pharmacia - Pfizer. In 2003, they joined IC Research - ICCOL as a Country Manager & Regional Project Leader. Mariagabriela then joined INC Research in 2006, where they held positions such as Director Global Clinical Development Latin America & General Manager Colombia and Regional Director Project Management Latin America. Mariagabriela later joined ICON plc in 2013, where they served as a Senior Director of Clinical Operations and eventually became the VP Clinical Operations & LATAM Head. Mariagabriela Alterio (she/her) holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from ADEN Business School & Universidad Francisco de Vitoria Madrid, which they obtained from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, they have a Master of Science (MSc) in Biology from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, completed from 1993 to 1996. Mariagabriela'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Universidad de Los Andes, where they studied from 1987 to 1993. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained a Certification in Bioethics from Universidad El Bosque in 2003, and a Certification in Clinical Research from Fundacion Santa Fe & Universidad del Rosario, also in 2003.
