Tony Clarke

Tony Clarke has a strong background in information security and IT operations. Tony most recently served as the SVP of IT Digital Operations at ICON plc, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of VP of Information Security & IT Operations at Marken from 2021 to 2023. Tony also had a long tenure at ICON plc, where they held various roles including Chief Information Security Officer, Director of Information Security, and Information Security from 2014 to 2021.

Aside from their roles in the industry, Tony also had involvement in security-related organizations. From 2018 to 2019, they were a committee member and Public Relations Officer at the Irish Information Security Forum (IISF). Tony also served as the Co-chair of the GDPR working group at H-ISAC, Inc from 2017 to 2018. Additionally, Tony was involved with OWASP Foundation, serving as the Dublin Chapter Lead from 2016 to 2018, and as a board member of OWASP Ireland - Dublin Chapter from 2015 to 2018.

Earlier in their career, Tony worked as a lecturer in Penetration Testing at Dublin Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2017. Tony also gained experience as a Senior Information Security Consultant at Ward Solutions from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they worked as a Systems Administrator at University College Dublin from 2005 to 2010, and as a Team Leader at iQon Technologies in 2004.

Tony Clarke has a diverse educational background. Tony holds a M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Limerick, which they completed in 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from the same university in 2019. Tony also holds a M.Sc. in Security and Forensic Computing from Dublin City University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2011. Tony started their education journey with a Diploma in Electronics (Product Development) from Dundalk Institute of Technology, which they completed from 1996 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Tony has obtained various certifications throughout their career. These include certifications in areas such as clinical trials, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud security, information security, and risk management. Tony is dedicated to continuously expanding their knowledge and expertise in these fields to stay current with industry advancements.
