Rachel Castillo

Program Manager at Icosavax

Rachel Castillo has a strong background in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Rachel started their career at IIT Research Institute as a Laboratory Biologist II, where they supervised multiple studies and developed and validated various assays. Rachel then worked at WIL Research as a Project Specialist, leading a project to improve data entry and analysis processes. Following that, they joined Shoreline Community College as an Associate Instructor, teaching students about tissue culture and designing experiments. Rachel then moved on to Takeda, where they held two roles. As a Research Associate III, they developed and optimized virology assays and identified growth curves for various cell lines and influenza strains. Later, they became a Documentation Specialist, writing and reviewing various types of documentation and leading the knowledge transfer initiative. Currently, Rachel is working at Icosavax, Inc. as a Manager, Data and Operations, and has recently taken on the role of Program Manager.

Rachel Castillo attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2002 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree. Rachel specialized in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology and Psychology during their time at the university.
