Yvette Zegenhagen is an experienced professional in humanitarian law and external engagement, currently serving as an Editorial Board Member for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) since January 2021. Prior to this role, Yvette held several key positions at the Australian Red Cross, including Executive Director of External Engagement, where accountability for humanitarian diplomacy functions was a primary responsibility, and Director of International Humanitarian Law & Government Engagement. Yvette's expertise also includes a short tenure as the Head of International Humanitarian Law at the ICRC and experience as a Common Law Legal Adviser at Cornwall Stodart. Additionally, Yvette has contributed as a legal volunteer for the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative in Accra. Academic credentials include an Executive Leadership Program from the Institute for Strategic Leadership and a specialized course in Weapons Law and Legal Review of Weapons from the Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
