Felipe Romero

Felipe Romero is an experienced investment officer currently working at IDB Invest since August 2023, where responsibilities include structuring and executing blended finance transactions and managing the concessional resource portfolio. Previously, Felipe was an associate in the Financial Institutions Group at HSBC from April 2018 to December 2021, managing a portfolio of over 25 financial groups, and served as an Affiliate Relationship Manager covering the affiliate portfolio. Prior to HSBC, Felipe worked as an economist at Banco de México from December 2015 to April 2018, conducting research on economic developments and advising on monetary policy communication strategies. Felipe began their career as an intern at Banco de México in 2015, analyzing the impact of exchange-rate regimes on growth and contributing to a publication on the institution's monetary policy. Educational qualifications include an MBA from HEC Paris, a BA in Economics with a focus on Finance from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and courses on Sustainable Finance at the University of Cambridge and Private Financial System Law at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
