Marcelo Cabrol currently serves as Chief Scalability, Knowledge and Impact at IDB Lab since October 2021, leading innovation initiatives for inclusion and environmental sustainability. Previously, Cabrol held various managerial positions at the Inter-American Development Bank from January 2006 to October 2021, including Manager of the Social Sector, where efforts positioned social programming as a priority and achieved historic funding approvals. As Manager of the External Relations Department, Cabrol reformed the Bank’s institutional identity and communication strategy across 26 countries. In the Chief role of the Education Division, a successful organization of the division led to a doubling of the IDB's education portfolio. Additionally, as an Advisor to the Executive Vice President, oversight of operations in the social sector and modernization efforts accounted for a significant portion of the Bank's annual approvals. Marcelo Cabrol is an ABD Ph.D. candidate in Government and Public Policy and holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Universidad del Salvador.
