Masato Okumura

Masato Okumura is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in promoting innovation in the Silver Economy and WorkerTech sectors for Latin America and the Caribbean at IDB Lab since August 2014. In the role of Private Finance Operations Senior Specialist within the Discovery Unit, Masato focuses on economic activities related to aging and the elderly population, including health, long-term care, housing, education, and the labor market. Previously, as a Senior Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, Masato played a crucial role in transforming the business model of a major retail company in Japan amidst demographic changes. Masato holds an MBA from IE Business School, where achievements include ranking in the top 20% of the class and excelling in quantitative courses, as well as a BA in Latin American Studies from The University of Tokyo, complemented by studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
