Tara Hunter

Tara Hunter is an experienced educational leader currently serving as Principal at IDEA Public Schools since April 2021, after previously holding the title of Assistant Principal of Instruction. Tara has developed and facilitated training programs for educators, collaborated with stakeholders to address academic and community issues, and ensured high-quality instruction aligned with district curriculum. In addition, Tara operates LA Hunter Associates, an executive consulting firm dedicated to enhancing professional learning for educators. Prior roles include Assistant Principal at Shelby County Schools, where responsibilities included analyzing student performance data, facilitating professional development, managing budgets, and overseeing daily operations. Tara holds a School Leadership Certification from Bethel University, a Master’s Degree in Secondary School Administration from Grand Canyon University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Management from Troy University.
