Elizabeth Maxwell has extensive experience in communications and community engagement. Elizabeth is currently the Director of Community & Communications at The Idea Village, where they manage the brands and communication strategies for various entrepreneurial programs. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of New Orleans, focusing on climate migration in the Gulf South. Elizabeth also served as the Communications Lead at the Gulf Coast Center for Law & Policy and the Director of Communications at Community Capital Advisors. Elizabeth has a passion for climate action and was a Fellow at Women4Climate, as well as a Communications Strategist at Urbane Development. Earlier in their career, they held roles as a Senior Product Manager at Social Capital Markets, an Events Manager at Impact Hub New York City, and an Associate in Communications and Media at the Joseph Campbell Foundation. Elizabeth Maxwell, MPA, holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Economic Development from the University of New Orleans. Elizabeth completed this program from 2019 to 2022. Prior to their MPA, Elizabeth obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Northwestern State University between 2003 and 2008. Their studies at Northwestern focused on Liberal Arts, including Humanities & Social Thought, as well as Theatre & Dance. Elizabeth also had the opportunity to study at Stellenbosch University from 2005 to 2006, where they specialized in Theatre (International Studies), isiXhosa (Language), and Negotiating Transitions (Political Science). Lastly, Elizabeth completed their high school education at Ursuline Academy High School from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, they obtained further certification in Economics of Money and Banking from Coursera in October 2017.
