Peter Teriete is a seasoned professional in the field of biochemistry and drug discovery, currently serving as Vice President and Senior Director of Lead Discovery at IDEAYA Biosciences since December 2020. With a strong commitment to cancer research through their role as Scientific Co-Founder at TumorGen, Inc., Peter's work addresses the critical challenges of metastasis, responsible for a high percentage of cancer fatalities. Additionally, Peter has held various positions at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, focusing on drug discovery and structure-based design across multiple diseases. An educator, Peter is the President of the German Pacific School San Diego, promoting cultural and language immersion. Peter holds a D.Phil in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from the University of Oxford and a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Leeds.
