Eric Haiss

Global Director - Automotive Business Development at IDI Composites International

Eric Haiss has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Eric started their career as a Process & Tooling Engineer at Delphi Automotive Systems in 1990 and later worked as a Design Release Engineer at Solvay Automotive. In 1999, they joined ITT Industries as a Business Unit Manager.

In 2003, Eric became the Vice President and Co-Owner of DirectBuy, where they successfully grew franchise sales and managed a substantial marketing budget. Eric then served as the Sales & Engineering Director for North America at Nobel Automotive, where they achieved significant sales growth and secured price concessions from customers.

Eric Haiss joined Teijin in 2009 as the Director of Business Development for Toho Tenax America, where they expanded the core business portfolio and secured major contracts, including a multi-million-dollar agreement with General Motors. Eric later became the Vice President and Board of Directors member at Teijin, presenting technology updates to OEM leadership teams and contributing to the acquisition of Continental Structural Plastics (CSP) into Teijin.

At Continental Structural Plastics, Eric held the position of Executive Vice President and Officer on the European Board of Directors. Eric played a pivotal role in integrating CSP into Teijin, leading the material and technology department and driving European business growth. Eric established an Advanced Technology Development group and expanded CSP's material capabilities in Europe by acquiring Tier 1 companies and securing contract awards with major OEMs.

Eric Haiss' most recent role is at IDI Composites International, where they serve as the Global Director of Automotive Business Development.

Eric Haiss holds a Master of Science in Administration (MSA) with a focus on Labor Law from Central Michigan University. Eric also has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) specializing in Polymer/Plastics Engineering from Kettering University. In addition to their formal education, Eric possesses additional certifications in Effective Negotiating from KARRASS® Effective Negotiating and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the University of Michigan.
