Position Overview:  

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Commercial Finance Lead  will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial health and strategic growth. This role involves conducting detailed financial analysis, developing budgets and forecasts, and providing insights that will drive informed decision making across the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis within the big 4 or fintech or technology sectors, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced global environment.

Responsibilities:  

 Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Conduct in depth financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis, trend identification, and scenario planning.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Analyse key financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to drive business performance.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans in collaboration with department heads and senior leadership.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Continuously refine and improve financial models and forecasting techniques to enhance accuracy and relevance.

Strategic Planning & Business Partnering:

  • Partner with cross functional teams, including product, operations, and marketing, to provide financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to the company’s strategic planning process by providing financial projections, ROI analysis, and scenario modeling.
  • Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence.

Cash Flow & Capital Management:

  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company’s financial stability and growth.
  • Assist in the evaluation of capital allocation decisions, including investments, expenditures, and financing options.

Process Improvement & Automation:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, systems, and tools, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial planning and analysis.
  • Implement and maintain financial planning software and tools that support data driven decision making and scalability.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team, leveraging technology to automate routine tasks and improve reporting capabilities.

 Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Qualifications:  

  • ACA Qualified
  • Big 4 training or experience is desirable
  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a strong track record in the fintech, technology, or related industries.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a global, fast paced environment with a focus on scalability and growth.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to financial management and analysis.
