Charalampos Patrikakis

Charalampos Patrikakis has extensive work experience in various academic and research roles. Charalampos is currently serving as the Editor in Chief and IEEE Computer Society representative to the Steering Committee of the IEEE Internet of Things Journal at the IEEE Computer Society since 2023. Charalampos is also the Associate Editor in Chief of IEEE IT Professional Magazine since 2018.

In addition to their role at IEEE, Patrikakis holds several positions at the University of West Attica. Charalampos is the Deputy Scientific Responsible for the GENERA research project and the Scientific Responsible for the VERITY, OPTOPER, and RESCUER research projects. Charalampos is also the Director of the MSc Program "Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning" and a Professor at the university.

Furthermore, Patrikakis has been involved in various research projects and academic roles at Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. Charalampos has served as the Scientific and Technical Responsible for the H2020 STORM Project and the Scientific Coordinator and Dissemination Manager of the H2020 project TRILLION. Prior to that, they were an Associate Professor at the university.

Before joining Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, Patrikakis worked at the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems as a Senior Research Associate and Researcher. Charalampos also has experience as a Senior Research Associate at the Agricultural University of Athens.

Charalampos Patrikakis holds an impressive education history in the field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Charalampos pursued their undergraduate studies at the National Technical University of Athens from 1987 to 1993, where they obtained a Dipl. Ing degree. Continuing their academic journey, Charalampos pursued a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering at the same institution from 1993 to 1997. Throughout their education, they built a strong foundation in the field, preparing him for a successful career. In addition to their educational accomplishments, Charalampos Patrikakis has also acquired certifications to further enhance their professional profile. In 2022, they were recognized as a Distinguished Contributor by the IEEE Computer Society, and they hold a Senior Member status within the IEEE community. These certificates exemplify their dedication to continuous learning and contributions to the field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
