Carlos López-Martínez

Carlos López-Martínez is an esteemed academic and researcher specializing in remote sensing and signal theory. Currently serving as an Affiliated Researcher at the Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya since April 2022 and as an Associate Professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya since October 2019, Carlos has significantly contributed to the Remote Sensing Laboratory within the Signal Theory and Communications Department. Carlos also holds the position of Distinguished Lecturer for IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing, promoting knowledge exchange in geoscience. Previous roles include Head of the Remote Sensing and Natural Resources Modelling group at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology and Deputy Director of Academic Affairs at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Carlos's academic journey is underpinned by a PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, along with postgraduate studies in Data Science and Big Data from Universitat de Barcelona.
