Michelle Sherman has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical therapy and psychology. Michelle started their career as a Health Care Assistant at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust in 2008. After that, they worked as an Assistant Psychologist, focusing on Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, conducting WISC assessments and providing support in a youth offender prison. From 2008 to 2013, Michelle worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner and later became an Accredited CBT Therapist and EMDR Practitioner at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. In 2017, they founded their own practice called Michelle Sherman CBT, where they worked as a Private CBT, PWP Therapist & Supervisor and EMDR practitioner. Michelle also worked at FCS Talking Therapies as a Senior CBT Therapist & Supervisor in 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Clinical Performance Lead at ieso.
Michelle Sherman has a diverse education history in the field of mental and social health services and allied professions. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Essex, which they obtained from 2004 to 2008. In 2008-2009, they pursued further education at Anglia Ruskin University, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies. Michelle then obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT from the University of East Anglia in 2013-2014. Continuing their professional development, Michelle obtained a Certificate in EMDR from EMDR Masterclass in 2017. Recently, in 2020-2021, they completed their MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Top Up from Buckinghamshire New University. Michelle also holds additional certifications, including being an accredited CBT therapist and supervisor with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), with the therapist accreditation achieved in 2015 and the supervisor accreditation achieved in 2020.
