Mia Crnojevic

From her very first steps Mia was accompanied by several faithful canine companions throughout her life so her friends and family would say that she has a particular affinity for dogs. Her love of animals also extends to wildlife, where, when lucky enough to observe them in their true habitat she is always in awe of their abilities and beauty.

Her passion for animals and protecting those who do not have a voice of their own, have meant that she has always been interested in following NGOs and charities which reflected her values.

Having concluded her studies with a Master’s degree, Mia set out to enter the world of NGOs speaking up for those without a voice. Although not at first obvious as a potential path, wildlife conservation aligned perfectly with what she was searching for. Mia started off as a Wildlife campaigner in 2013 and since occupying this role she has campaigned on various projects and continues to work on fighting the trade in ivory, fighting wildlife cybercrime and ensuring better handling of live wild animals confiscated in France.

Her daily work involves working with governments, private companies and enforcers to ensure a more holistic approach to fighting wildlife crime from all the various sectors, combining both wildlife conservation and animal welfare. She also develops strategic relationships with political decision makers in order to help advance this work.

Mia has a Bachelor’s degree in Modern languages and European Studies from Bath University, U.K and a Master’s degree in Human Rights from University College London.
