Alexander Kahlig

Vice President at ifm

Alexander Kahlig has extensive work experience, starting in 2008 with an internship at Multek. Alexander then worked as a PhD student and research assistant at Fraunhofer-Institut für Grenzflächen- und Bioverfahrenstechnik IGB from 2010 to 2014. Following that, they worked as a Simulation Specialist at Volkswagen AG from 2014 to 2017. In 2017, they joined ifm as a Senior Manager responsible for the development of capacitive sensors, and later became the General Manager and Vice President of Technical Directives. In 2019, they became a Member of the Executive Board at mioty alliance, where they focused on the development of the mioty wireless standard and strategic partnerships. Alexander also held the position of Treasurer on the board. In 2022, they became the Chairman of the Executive Board at mioty alliance. At present, they work as a Managing Director in Strategic Development at Sentinum GmbH, a company acquired by ifm. Their role involves supporting Sentinum's integration into the ifm group and guiding its strategic development in the areas of wireless sensor technology and IIOT.

Alexander Kahlig completed their education at the University of Stuttgart, earning a Diplom in Physics from 2004 to 2011 and a Dr.-Ing. in Process Engineering from 2011 to 2017.
