Yalmaz Abdullah

Yalmaz Abdullah is a researcher at Illumia Labs, focusing on user studies to enhance flight simulator training for student pilots, a position held since January 2024. Concurrently, Yalmaz serves as a course developer at the University of Alberta, contributing to a new micro-credential course on Game Development with an emphasis on UI and UX topics. Previous roles include undergraduate researcher under Dr. Carrie Demmans Epp, teaching assistant for Human Computer Interaction and Computing courses, and conducting research on cognitive load in online game-based learning. Additionally, Yalmaz volunteers with the IGDA Foundation, aiding fundraising initiatives to promote inclusivity in the game development community. Yalmaz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, expected in 2024.
