Dorothy Zhang

Dorothy Zhang is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within the iGEM organization, currently serving as Executive Vice President since July 2020, and previously holding positions such as Vice President of Global Development and Vice President of Community. Involvement with the iGEM Competition includes serving as a Human Practices Committee Member and Judge while contributing as a Primary and Secondary PI for high school teams. Dorothy's earlier career includes roles at BGI-Shenzhen as Director of Science Education, where innovative education programs in gene science were developed, and at Cold Spring Harbor Asia, where responsibilities spanned from establishing operational frameworks to business development. Dorothy holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from East China Normal University and continued education at The University of Edinburgh, reinforcing a strong foundation in both educational programming and scientific communication.
