Alonso Flores

Alonso Flores is a seasoned professional in the field of biotechnology and synthetic biology, currently serving as the Safety and Security Program Officer at iGEM since June 2022. Previous roles at iGEM include Safety & Security Fellow and Head of Safety and Security for the FCB-UANL team, where risk assessments and dual-use research concerns were critical responsibilities. In addition to contributions at iGEM, Alonso holds the position of Head of Biotechnology Innovation at Mate Innovation, where ambitious biotechnological projects are being developed. Prior experience also encompasses educational project coordination at Scintia and leadership roles in various iGEM teams, focusing on human practices and safety. Alonso holds a Licentiate degree in Biotechnology from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, further solidifying expertise in this domain.
