Matt Burridge is a PhD student in Synthetic Biology at Newcastle University, focusing on innovative approaches to the design and characterization of biocatalyst panels. With a robust background in laboratory automation, Matt has held various positions at OXGENE, where responsibilities included developing automated platforms for rAAV/AD and mammalian cell lines, and enhancing molecular biology workflows. Involvement with iGEM includes serving on the Engineering Committee, as well as participating in the Newcastle 2018 iGEM team, investigating standardization issues in Synthetic Biology. Academic qualifications include an MSc in Industrial and Commercial Biotechnology and a BSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology, both from Newcastle University. Prior work experience also includes roles in customer service and event promotions.
