Neel Patel

Neel Patel currently serves as an Advisor and Director of Technology at iGEM, leading a team to develop automated drones with AI for farm monitoring and creating a portal for farmers to access data on fungal growth. Neel also works as a Full Stack Developer at Imagine Cities, where database architecture and search algorithms are key responsibilities. In academia, Neel is a Teaching Assistant for CMPUT 301 and CMPUT 174 at the University of Alberta, providing guidance in software engineering and programming. Previous experience includes roles as an AI Software Developer, Research Assistant, Medical Laboratory Assistant I, Mobility Specialist at Best Buy, and Cashier at Tim Hortons. Neel is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta, with a double major in Biological Science and Computer Science.
